Bombay Talkies is a compilation of scores of sharp and witty reviews chronicling Bollywood cinema during 2004 and 2005. This inaugural edition anthology is written by well-known film critic and journalist, Mayank Shekhar.  These reviews appeared in Mid-Day and Mumbai Mirror, Mumbai's leading dailies, where the the author worked during this period.

It's an informative, irreverent volume that offers reviews of most movies during this period, encapsulating all genres. Sometimes more entertaining than the films being talked about, the pieces detail premise, plot and purpose of the said films - pointing out prominent pros and cons, with one eye keenly trained on the larger picture.
