Nooyi first joined PepsiCo in 1994. In 2001 she became its Chief Financial Officer after which she directed the company's global strategy for over a decade. She was also responsible for for the restructuring of the company including the divestiture of its restaurants into Tricon, now known as Yum! Brands. On October 1, 2006, she became the company's first female CEO. With Nooyi at the helm, PepsiCo's annual revenue rose phenomenally and its net profit doubled.
